THE JOURNEY TO THE WINDOW STYLIST
The Window Stylist was born from a deep passion for design, craftsmanship, and helping people beautify the spaces they live in.
Tania Datil’s journey in design began in 1996 when she and her late husband moved to Encinitas, California, with their two young children. Together, they opened a small upholstery and custom furniture store, creating handcrafted pieces that blended quality with style. Their dedication and craftsmanship quickly gained recognition, leading to the expansion of a 4,000 sq. ft. showroom and a second location in Murrieta, California.
In 2010, life took an unexpected turn when Tania’s husband passed away suddenly. She stepped away from the business to focus on her children, ensuring they had the support and stability they needed. But design was always in her heart. Five years later, with her children grown, she returned to the industry with a renewed passion—this time, as a window stylist.
Tania joined Smith & Noble, where she became a top-performing designer in the window treatment industry. She worked with high-profile clients, including the Property Brothers and Wendy Bellissimo, designing luxury window treatments that blended function with style. Her expertise extended beyond design—she consistently exceeded sales targets, led major projects, and mentored design teams to achieve their full potential.
Despite her success, Tania envisioned something more—a truly personalized, seamless experience where clients could trust her to take the lead in creating spaces that felt effortlessly beautiful. That vision led to the creation of The Window Stylist, a company dedicated to making luxury window treatments approachable, tailored, and deeply intuitive.

A PASSION FOR DESIGN & EXCELLENCE
For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to the craft of window styling. It is my profession and my passion. To me, this is more than a job—it is an art.
From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to design, fabrics, and creating beautiful spaces. Even as a child, I found joy in rearranging furniture, selecting color palettes, and imagining how small details could bring a room together.
That passion led me to start my first business in custom furniture and upholstery, and later, to discover my true calling—designing window treatments and styling windows.
I don’t just design window treatments based on trends or client preferences—I design based on what the space itself calls for. I believe every home speaks, and it’s my job to listen.
